Abstract:
Affective technologies require specialized models in order to develop effective research programs.
Such models are usually dynamic, and require specialized theoretical constructs with a set of variables and a set of logical and quantifiable relationships that are time varying.
Models are constructed to enable reasoning within an idealized logical framework about these processes; they are an important component that precedes publishable inference and deduction.
This lecture explores research programs, their components and surveys the unique characteristics of data acquired from affective technologies, and addresses the statistical techniques required.
