My exchange at Tsinghua has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Being away from home for such a long period was intimidating at first, but I adapted much faster than I expected. A big part of that came from the people I met. I have made close friends from all over the world, and it has been so much fun traveling, studying, or simply sitting in the canteens with them, talking about everything and nothing.

The campus itself has also played an important role in shaping my experience. It is vibrant and full of energy, yet it also offers space to slow down and reflect. Sitting on Zijing Field, whether watching a football match, seeing students toss a frisbee, or listening to someone play guitar or sing, has become a meaningful part of my routine. These moments have helped me appreciate the present and feel more connected to the community around me.

I also learned how to bike while I was here, which felt like a small but important win. Biking through campus has given me a sense of confidence and belonging, as I have begun to navigate the space not just as a visitor, but as someone who truly feels at home here.

My favorite course has been Introductory Psychology. The class has been fascinating, with topics that feel highly relevant to everyday life. Learning about the human brain, consciousness, memory, and perception has been especially engaging, and the examples and case studies drawn from around the world have made the material even more compelling. The course has also pushed me to develop my creative and critical thinking skills. Overall, this exchange experience has helped me grow in ways I did not expect, both academically and personally.
