◢ Introduction

The Research Center for Green Economy and Sustainable Development, Tsinghua University was established in 2015. As a university-level scientific research institution, with Tsinghua University’s advantages in education, research, and branding, the center actively carries out interdisciplinary research on low-carbon economy and sustainable development in China and the world by integrating various resources of the world and China, government agencies and scientific research departments, universities and enterprises, etc. With the mission of providing solutions to sustainable development problems in China and even the world, and with the research topics of green economy, low-carbon development and sustainable social transformation, the center has become a comprehensive cooperation and exchange platform between universities and the industry: on this interdisciplinary cooperation platform, we produce research outcomes oriented to solving problems by integrating the resources of interdisciplinary research cooperation in the university; on this multi-party exchange platform, we join hands with relevant government departments and many partners in the business sector to promote the best and innovative practices of China’s green development.
