◢ Introduction

The National Research Center for Economic Research, Tsinghua University (NCER) was established in 1996 with the important historical mission of attracting overseas talent for the economics discipline at Tsinghua University. It has played a significant role in advancing the development and internationalization of the economics discipline, earning extensive recognition among renowned economists both domestically and internationally.

In the new era, the Center has cultivated a core force of young economists primarily from Tsinghua University while extending its influence to the national level. Building on Tsinghua's disciplinary strengths and its established academic networks, NCER contributes to research and education on China's economic issues through rigorous research projects, academic exchanges, and talent development initiatives. These efforts focus on academic exploration and policy studies closely tied to China's economic realities.

The Center aspires to become a world-class training base and academic cradle for young economists who combine global perspectives with deep roots in China's national conditions.
