【Background Information】

Haiyang Li is Assistant Professor of innovation and strategic management at The Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management ofRiceUniversity. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics from Renmin University of China. He had his Ph.D. in strategic management from City University of Hong Kong. Before he joined Rice, he was on the faculty of Department of Management,TexasA&MUniversity. His research interests focus on product innovation and technology entrepreneurship inChina's transition economy, strategic decision making of new technology ventures, strategic alliances and multinationals' innovation in emerging markets. His papers have been published in journals such asAcademyofManagement Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of International Marketing, and others. Haiyang currently serves aseditorial board member forAcademyofManagement Journal, Journal of High Technology Management Research, and Multinational Business Review.
