Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) hosted Dilhan Pillay SANDRASEGARA, a member of its Advisory Board and the executive director and CEO of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited and Temasek International Pte. Ltd. on October 24, 2024. SANDRASEGARA was invited to participate in a class where he shared Temasek's long-term investment strategies from a global perspective. He engaged in a dialogue with Jia Ning, associate professor of accounting and academic director of Tsinghua Global MBA Program, and exchanged ideas with more than 100 students from the school. The event was also attended by LIM Ming Pey, chief of staff, deputy chief corporate officer, and joint head of Corporate Strategy at Temasek, and Ma Jia, director of Tsinghua MBA Programs. It was hosted by students from the Tsinghua Global MBA Program.

SANDRASEGARA expressed his admiration for the blend of classical and modern beauty on the Tsinghua campus. During his presentation, he discussed Temasek's mission, investment philosophy, China-focused strategies, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, while also sharing highlights from his personal career journey. Marking Temasek's 50th anniversary of this year, SANDRASEGARA reflected on the company's history and emphasized its role as an active investor, a forward-looking institution and a trusted steward. He noted that China remains a vital market for Temasek's long-term investments, praising the innovation and potential of local enterprises, especially in life sciences, consumer sectors, and sustainable living. Highlighting the importance of globalization for Chinese companies, SANDRASEGARA encouraged them to focus on "operating overseas" to further develop "Chinese multinational corporations (China MNCs)." He also shared Temasek's efforts in promoting ESG and how institutional investors can integrate ESG factors throughout the investment process. In closing, he encouraged students to remain curious and adaptable to navigate the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly changing industry.

During the Q&A session, students actively engaged with SANDRASEGARA on topics such as investment trends in the Chinese market, future development directions and opportunities, and the impact of artificial intelligence on investment strategies.

At the end of the session, a representative of the Tsinghua MBA students presented SANDRASEGARA with a Chinese ink portrait of him set against the background of Tsinghua University's Old Gate and Singapore's iconic landmarks, the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands. This gift expressed students' gratitude and commemorated the "Tsinghua Students Dialogue with Board Member" at Tsinghua SEM.
