"International Management Education Collaboration and Its Future Challenges"

On July 15, as one of the programs of Tsinghua-MIT Management Education Project 10th Anniversary, Dean's Forum titled "International Management Education Collaboration and Its Future Challenges" was held in Tsinghua Main Building. Distinguished guests who attended the forum included Professor Cheng Siwei, Vice Director of People's Congress Standing Committee, Professor Zhang Guohua, Vice Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, Mr. Jiang Feng, Head of International Cooperation and Exchange Department of Education Ministry, Professor Zheng Shaolian, Advisor to National MBA Education Advisory Committee, Professor Zhao Chunjun, former Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Professor Richard Schmalensee, Dean of MIT Sloan, as well as deans from other 43 domestic management schools.

Professor Cheng Siwei gave high opinion to the successful collaboration between Tsinghua SEM and MIT Sloan. He said, "It is of great significance to promote the international collaboration in management education. We've been striving to cultivate professional managers with global vision. In addition, we have to combine theories of management science with its practice, combine advanced western management know-how and mythology with China's traditional management philosophy and thinking."

Professor He Jiankun, Dean of Tsinghua SEM addressed in his speech, "Around the topic of international management education collaboration in the wave of globalization, we hold this forum today in order to discuss the possible management education collaborative models, share existing experiences, analyze challenges ahead as well as provide advice to the future development of China's management education."

After the opening ceremony, Professor Schmalensee, Professor Zheng Shaolian and Professor Zhao Chunjun made their respective speeches. Several other deans from domestic management schools also delivered their theme speeches on certain specific topics.
