Tsinghua SEM and Reuters to Jointly Establish Financial Research Risk Lab

March 15, 2006- Tsinghua SEM and Reuters Beijing officially announce the formal establishment of Financial Research Risk Lab in Tsinghua University. Through this cooperation between the two parties, Tsinghua SEM students will be able to get access to Reauters’ Kondor+ Risk Management System and 3000Xtra Financial Information Desktop Terminal.

The new lab will be part of Tsinghua’s China Center for Financial Research (CCFR), a research institution dedicated to find solutions for Chinese companies’ risk management. The newly established lab will enable students to get access to real-time dada quoting system of Kondor+ as well as applying the most advanced models to simulate all market risks and various derivatives trading scenarios. According to the contract, Reauters will also offer three scholarships to EMBA candidates of SEM in the coming two years.

Dean He Jiankun pointed out during the ceremony, “With Reauters’ support, students will be enabled to utilize the world’s most reliable financial information, analysis and risk management system. Through this advanced training and experiences, Tsinghua students will be well prepared to perform well in the world’s most advanced financial market in their professional lives.”

To congratulate the formal establishment of the lab, Mr. Niall FitzGerald, Chairman of Reauters and board member of Tsinghua SEM Advisory Board delivered his speech to Tsinghua students and faculty, in the title of “Leadership Moments from 37 years in an International Company.”
