COOlBAR Wins Smith China Business Plan Competition Championship

The Second China Business Plan Competition, which is held by University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business, veiled its curtain on Sept.13, 2006. Team CoolBar stood out from among nearly 150 attending teams, winning the championship and the top prize of $25,000.

CoolBra, Who had won the first prize before in Future entrepreneurs Road Business Plan Competition co-organized by Tsinghua SEM and Microsoft Research (MSR) Asia, consists of students from Tsinghua SEM and Department of Automation: GaoHao,Chen Xiaoying, Cui Jingyu, CaoLei, ZhouXin and DongYue.

At the awarding ceremony, Howard Frank, Dean of Robert Smith School of Business of Maryland University, and Doctor LiangGui, Director of the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, co-announced the name of prize bearers. Frank said, “China is becoming the cradle for entrepreneurs in 21st century.” Five teams attended the final on Sept. 13. After intensive competition, three of them shared the total $ 50,000 prize.
