Guo Wei, President of Digital China，guested and delivered speech titled “Ideal, Faith and Road” in the Global Club of Commercial Elites Activity co-organized by Tsinghua School of Economy and Management (Tsinghua SEM) and The Economic Observer newspaper at SEM’s international Report Hall on October 26. Yang Bin, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, and, He Li, Chief Editor of The Economic Observer, addressed respectively. Gao Xudong, associate professor of Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, drew a conclusion to Guo’s speech. Nearly 500 faculty and students from both Tsinghua and other universities took part in the activity.

In the address, Yang expressed welcome for this activity’s entry to Tsinghua, and he hoped such activity can provide students with an opportunity of close approach to excellent enterprises and entrepreneurs like Guo, and further help them realize what China should do to gain a competitive advantage in the globalization process.

Guo talked from the development of computer technology to enterprise innovation, saying, “Innovation is nothing but produce new products and build new service brands according to the needs of clients.” He added that at present service pattern innovation should be given more consideration than invention of new products. Taking financial and retail industies as examples, Guo also illustrated for students how IT service help enterprises better adapt to new competition situation and meet the continuous changing demands from clients. In addition, he drew a conclusion about the innovation idea insisted by Digital China, namely, “ The best practice derives from clients’ need, workable solution plans come from the best practice, and core technology form finally from the solution plans.”

Before Guo’s speech, Ma Guang, Assistant President of Digital China, gave a brief introduction about the company’s development and achievement attained in recent years.
