5th Tsinghua EMBA Graduation Forum Held

Tsinghua SEM professors, EMBA graduate students and their families gathered together at SEM international hall as the 2005 EMBA Graduation Forum was held onJuly 18, 2007. The forum was also attended by Professor Qian Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Professor Yang Bin, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Professor Liao li, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Director of Tsinghua EMBA Program. Qi Bin, Director of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC)ResearchCenterwas invited to attend the forum as a panelist.

The Tsinghua SEM EMBA program, one of the best executive management programs inChina, graduated its 163 students this summer. In his address at the forum, Dean Qian Yingyi spoke highly of the 2005 EMBA graduates, and expressed his sincere wishes for their future accomplishments.

Wednesday’s forum has four sessions divided by four topics including “enterprises’ strategy and development”, “corporate governance and reform”, “global economic integration and enterprises competition”, “capital market and enterprises development”. Graduate student representatives were asked to have a dialogue with SEM professors under those topics, with other graduates proactively involved. SEM professors Jin Zhanming, Ning Xiangdong, Yangbin, Zhu Wuxiang and Qi Bin from CSRC participated in the dialogue session.

Tsinghua SEM saw its first class of EMBA students in September 2002. So far, more than 1000 students have obtained EMBA degree, who now are playing critical roles in diverse businesses. The program has put emphasis on “global vision” and has established partnership with overseas universities. Every year students have the opportunity to visit Sloan School of Management, MIT. In June this year, the School launched Tsinghua-INSEAD dual degree EMBA program in collaboration with INSEAD, the top business school inEurope. Its first batch of students consists of 43 experienced executives representing 16 different nationalities. With this program, executives from East and West were provided with a unique opportunity to learn and share best practices and hone their international leadership skills.
