A discussion session with the theme of "the Chinese economy after 17th CPC National Congress" was held at Tsinghua SEM on November 3, 2007.The session was hosted by Alumni and Development Office and The Center forChinain the World Economy (CCWE), with over 300 Tsinghua alumni attending the session.

Professor Li Daokui, Director of CCWE presided over the session. Experts and scholars participating in the session included Zhen Xinli, Vice-director of Policy Research Office, CCCPC(Central Committee of Communist Party of China); Zhang Yuyan, Director of Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Dr. Tang Min,, Deputy Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation; Dr Wang Xiaolu,Deputy Director of National Economic Research Institute of China Reform Foundation; Fan Jianping, Director of Chinese National Economy Research Institute; Dr. Zuo Xiaolei, Research Fellow of Chinese National Economy Research Insitute;Dr Yuan Gangming, Research Fellow ofthe Center for China in the World Economy, Tsinghua University; Professor Lei Dingming, Director of the Center for Economic Development, Hong Kong University of Science of Technology; Professor Zou Weiye from Hong Kong University of Science of Technology, etc..

The day was the annual Alumni Day of Tsinghua SEM. Before the discussion session, Vice-director of the Alumni and Development Office Xing Linjun briefed the alumni on the recent development of the School and the functions of the Alumni and Development Office.
