205 SEM Students to Study Abroad

205 students who are going to study abroad as exchange students attended a training session on security and manners overseas on June 19, 2008. Tuesday's lectures were given by teachers from International Office and teaching sectors of the School. After this, these students will fly abroad for half-a-year long exchange studies.

The number of exchange students of this year has reached 205, a 18% increase compared to last year, which is 174. Among them, 72 are undergraduates. So far, the number of overseas business schools which have signed exchange program agreements with Tsinghua SEM has grown to 73, 16 more than that of last year. The cooperating schools are located in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific region, including Kellogg School of Management of U.S. Northwestern University, Stephen M. Ross School of Business of the University of Michigan, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Sloan School of Management, MIT, and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Stern School of Business of New York University, Yale School of Management, Cornell University, University of North Carolina, Queen's University(Canada),HEC-Paris, University of Koeln (Germany),National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University(Singapore), Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, etc. The cooperative parties mutually recognize the credits obtained from the other party.

Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) has been attaching great importance to international cooperation. Besides the long-term exchange program above, Tsinghua SEM has developed some short-term international exchange programs, like Tsinghua-Stanford MBA exchange program, Tsinghua-Chile exchange program and Tsinghua-MIT Sloan exchange program. The short-term international exchange programs have been integrated to the School’s teaching scheme as one of the optional classes for students with the course name “Global Business Perspective”. Tsinghua SEM has also developed a summer course package—“Doing Business in China” for overseas visiting students delegation. In May, 2008, 42 MBA students from Pursue University (U.S.), 16 MBA students from University of North Carolina (U.S.), 35 MBA students from New York University (U.S.) and 32 undergraduate students from University of Michigan accomplished their courses at Tsinghua SEM.
