Six Teams Reach the Final of the 1st National Graduate Technological Entrepreneurship Business Plan Contest

The result of the second round of 1st National Graduate Technological Entrepreneurship Business Plan Contest was announced on September 27, 2008 with six teams qualified for the final. Four teams were conferred Encouragement Prize with prize money of 1000 RMB.

The contest has been in its final round since September 27. All the participating teams are required to submit their final business plans and Powerpoint for defense session before October 22. The Contest Defense Session of the final will take place at Tsinghua University on October 26, when the victorious team will be selected out and awarded a substantial business start-up fund.

The appraisal committee of the second round of the contest consists of 16 experts, chaired by Senior Vice president of Qidi Holdings and Director of Qidi Entrepreneurship Center Ms. Luo Jianbei. The second round appraisal session took place on September 27. Associate Dean of Graduate School of Tsinghua University Gao Celi, and Director of Tsinghua University Research Center for Technological Innovation Wu Guisheng attended the launching ceremony of the second round appraisal and delivered addresses at the session. The launching ceremony was hosted by Professor Gao Jian, Executive Director of the Organizing Committee of the contest.

Since September 27, all the members of the appraisal committee will send their comments on the business plans via email to each participating team, in hopes of helping the participants effectively improve their business plans.

The event was co-organized by Graduate School of Tsinghua University, School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and Research Center for Technological Innovation of Tsinghua University. 111 teams from 26 institutions of higher education across the country participated in the preliminary round of the contest, 33 of them reached the second round. After two-month preparation, 27 teams from 10 institutions completed their business plans and took part in the defense session of the second round of the contest.
