Tsinghua University wins 1st runner-up in The mai Bangkok Business Challenge? @ Sasin

Tsinghua Universtiy has won the 1strunner-up in the The mai Bangkok Business Challenge? @ Sasin held in Bangkok during Feburary 25 to March 1, meanwhile it also won the award for Best Business Plan——Group B and the award for Best Presentation——Group B.

Led by Associate Professor Zhang Wei from the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Tsinghua team consisted of four undergraduates: Wang Lu (Chemical biology), Gong Siwei (Environment), Qie Yan(Electrical Engineering), Chen Xu (Economics and Management)and Hua Xin(Economics and Management). All of them have been admitted by master program 2009 of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Tsinghua SEM.

Launched by Chulalongkorn University-Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Thailand, the competition has attracted 64 teams from 23 countries and regions, 16 of which took part in the final round. Technical University of Denmark, claimed the grand prize at The mai Bangkok Business Challenge? @ Sasin 2009. The other finalists included University of Chichago(U.S.), National University of Singapore, (Singapore), IE Business School, Spain, and Thammasat University, Thailand.

The Bangkok Business Challenge?@ Sasin , Thailand’s premier business plan competition conducted in English, was created in 2002 to encourage post-graduate students in business administration programs across Thailand and Asia to become more entrepreneurial. Teams from business administration programs will not only be competing for the most prestigious prize of all, Thailand’s H.M. The King’s Award, but will also have a chance to acquire over $20,000 in prize money. The judging committee, including leading entrepreneurs, professionals and venture capitalists, will be looking for the most attractive new venture based on the written business plans, live presentations and venture exhibits.
