On April 12, 2010, the 2009-2010 International Deans’ Programme co-held by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Association of Business Schools (ABS) was initiated in Beijing. Tsinghua SEM was the second stay on the Programme’s schedule.

On April 13, 2010, new Deans of fifteen business schools around the world came to the School for a one-day training session. Participants come from America, Britain, France, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, Holland and South Africa.

On the training meeting, Professor QIAN Xiaojun, Director of the Planning and Quality Assurance Office of the School, and Griet Houbrechts, Director of the Business School Services Unit, EFMD, each delivered a welcome note.

Speeches were then made regarding the development and challenges in China’s management education, the research opportunities of business schools in China, entrepreneurship and leadership education. Speakers include Tsinghua SEM’s Senior Associate Dean Professor YANG Bin, Associate Dean Professor CHEN Guoqing, Assistant Dean Professor GAO Jian and Professor YANG Baiyin, Chair of the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior.

After the meeting, participant Deans also toured around in Tsinghua campus.
