2010 China International Conference in Finance Held

The 2010 China International Conference in Finance (CICF) took place in Beijing.

The Conference was co-held by the China Center for Financial Research of Tsinghua University and MIT Sloan School of Management. Since 2002, there have been eight CICFs held to this day. Keynote speakers at the Conferences include prestigious financial experts such as Franklin Allen, Steven Ross, Stewart C. Myer, Andrew W. Lo, Michael Brennan, and Hayne Leland.

The 2010 Conference received 810 papers, including 561 in English and 249 in Chinese. 227 papers were discussed on the Conference, and seven of them were awarded “the best thesis.” The event drew together over 200 scholars from home and abroad as well as over 100 students.

Dean of SEM Professor QIAN Yingyi delivered an inaugural speech at the Conference. This year’s keynote speaker Professor John Y. Campbell, Chair of the Department of Economics of Harvard University, then talked about the risk of government bonds in light of the development of economic and financial policies on a global scale.

The next CICF will be during July 4-7, 2011. The collection of papers will begin at the end of October 2010.
