On November 30, Tsinghua SEM Career Fair was held by the Career Development Center (CDC) in Wenjin Hotel. Thirty-eight local and international employers from finance, consulting, manufacturing, TMT, medical & health care industries actively participated in the fair. Over 200 intern and full-time job opportunities were provided for SEM undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA students.

To ensure quality of the fair, companies were carefully selected by CDC based on the criteria of reputation within the industry, career prospects, and valuable job openings. Participating companies range from Fortune 500 to fast-growing local companies such as IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Pine River Capital Management, Emerson, Ernst & Young Consulting, Daimler, International SOS, Fortune Clsa Securities, etc. The career fair attracted more than 400 students and provided them with opportunities to meet prospective employers face-to-face, and to market themselves to potential employers on site. Besides graduating students, many first-year MBA and postgraduate students also actively attended the career fair pursuing internships.

CDC designed an E-brochure highlighting company overview, job description, and current vacancies. It was sent to students prior to the career fair in order to help them better prepare for recruitment in advance. .

Recruiters were deeply impressed by SEM students’ solid skills and passion for success. They also mentioned that many candidates lacked clear career objectives. In terms of students’ feedback, most were satisfied with the quality of employers and job postings.
