The eight cases submitted to Harvard Business School Publishing by China Business Case Center (CBCC) of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management (SEM) have been accepted into Harvard Business School’s case library and will be published worldwide. Until now, a total of 22 cases from CBCC have been submitted and will be available around the globe through Harvard Business School Publishing.

The eight cases include: China National Chemical Corporation, Qingdao TGOOD Electric Co., Ltd., Beyondsoft Co., Ltd., Kingdee (B), UFIDA (F), Semir Group, and Beyondsoft Co., Ltd IPO (A) and (B). These cases illustrate the latest management practices of Chinese companies, covering strategy, human resource management, leadership, management control, financial management, internationalization and so on. They are suitable for MBA, EMBA or general management teaching and training.

These cases were developed by CBCC’s research assistants under the guidance of F. Warren McFarlan, visiting professor of Tsinghua SEM, co-director of CBCC and former senior associate dean of Harvard Business School and eight faculty from Tsinghua SEM, including LI Donghong and JIAO Jie from the Department of Business Strategy and Policy, ZHENG Xiaoming, ZHANG Jin, CHEN Hao from the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, and JIA Ning from the Department of Accounting.

Tsinghua SEM is the first business school in mainland China that has signed a cooperative agreement with Harvard Business School Publishing to publish business management cases internationally. Via the Harvard Business School Publishing network, Tsinghua has not only shown business schools around the world the quality of Tsinghua cases and its achievements of case study and teaching, but also increased the international influence of its case center.

In the absence of real signs of global economic recovery, China’s economy and the study of Chinese companies and their practices have drawn increasing international attention. Tsinghua cases on the Harvard Business School Publishing network serve to meet the demand of international business schools to teach and study Chinese management practices, to improve people’s knowledge of China’s market and companies and to extend the influence of Chinese business practices.
