First Tsinghua EMBA Study Trip to Israel Completed

On April 17th 2013, 36 Tsinghua EMBA students arrived at Rccanati Business School of Tel Aviv University, starting a 6-day study trip. This marks the first time Tsinghua EMBA Program has set foot on Israel, adding a brand new destination to its overseas study program.

Professor Asher Tishier, faculty dean of Rccanati Business School delivered his welcoming address to the Tsinghua EMBA students. Udi Aharoni, director of LAHAV Executive Education Programs introduced the contents of the program.

Rccanati Business School meticulously arranged 6 professors for the program, including Professor Asher Tishier, their faculty dean. Meanwhile, they invited Mr. Amir Lati, deputy director from the Northeast Asia Department of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to introduce business relations between China and Israel. In addition, one of the authors of Start-Up Nation: the Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, Mr. Saul Singer shared with Tsinghua EMBA students about secrets of Israel’s tremendous success in innovations and entrepreneurship.

This 6-day program consists of lectures on “Israel at a Glance”, “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Israel”, “The VC Industry, Government Support and Technological Greenhouse Model”, “The Israeli Macroeconomic Environment”, “The Israeli Defense Sector”, etc. In addition, Tsinghua EMBA students also visited three Israeli high-tech start-ups: Perion, Babylon and Orbotech. The CEO and executives of the above three companies detailed their entrepreneurial history and development strategies.

The participants also toured Tel Aviv-Jaffa Metropolitan, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem, experiencing first-hand the rich Mediterranean culture and religious atmosphere.

The closing ceremony was held on April 22, 2013. President of Tel Aviv University awarded certificates to the participants.

Throughout the program, the participants were most strikingly impressed by Israel’s ardent and persistent pursuit of innovations and entrepreneurship and the charm of the Jewish culture, hoping to cherish this unforgettable memory for a long time.
