To build a company that can improve society and help humanity has always been a dream of graduate student Jiake CHEN, currently majoring in material science and engineering at Tsinghua and also serving as CEO of the start-up company Endless Flow.  Chen began his journey by tackling the critical problem of heavy metal pollution in wastewater treatment systems in China. Within the x-lab network he met Yinghao ZHOU, who would become his partner.  The technical team of what would become Endless Flow was able to develop RS100, a novel solution for the heavy metals problem. Their team, including two students from the School of Economics and Management and supervised by Professor Wei ZHANG, was chosen from among Chinese universities to the 9th Intel Global Challenge at UC Berkeley in October 2013.  Professor ZHANG also brought in Dr. Zhengning SHEN, one of x-lab’s Angels-in-Residence and partner of a well-known VC firm focused on the environmental technology sector, as a mentor.  By the end of 2013, Endless Flow had successfully developed 11 customers across the country, and 10,000 tons of wastewater tainted by heavy metals are purified by their product every day.
