Another student from the team presenting on Mandatory Medical Student Program to Improve Healthcare of Rural Elderly (迟暮朝阳帮扶计划) shared his experience: “Every single step of our project was driven by interviews. We started by talking to a classmate's Ayi (阿姨) to learn about her problems as a migrant worker living far from home. We also spoke with experts to gather more insights, and refined our final solution using feedbacks from our focal users. Through this process, we learn how to ask questions and listen to people's needs—which were often unexpected and surprising—instead of simply imagining them.” A Thai member from Guozhao (高手过招, an English learning platform linking Chinese service industry workers and employers) said: “At the beginning, our team had no ideas at all about what our solution was going to be. So we kept seeking information regarding the needs of our focal users and other parties involved. We finally had an idea and made a prototype. This process is amazing; not only did we manage to put our idea into action, but I also got to know China better through interviews with people. I believe can do something here.”
