Mr. LU has been Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) since 1998, which is a public foundation initiated by Development Research Center of the State Council. Under his leadership, CDRF has directed a number of high impact events and projects such as China Development Forum and China Development Report. The foundation is committed to research and social experiments in poverty reduction and child development, which has achieved outstanding results despite its low profile. Bridging society and government, the foundation uses international best practice to conduct social experiments and policy evaluation with support of local administrations to provide effective consultation and services to all levels of government. The foundation made a significant contribution to the National Nutrition Improvement Initiative for students in rural compulsory education, which covers 23 million primary and middle school students in China's 22 provinces, 680 poor counties. In 2011, Mr. LU was awarded “Distinguished Individual in National Antipoverty Development” by the State Council Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation and Development. In 2014, he was awarded “the Annual Philanthropy Figure of the People’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award”.
