He joined Tsinghua University in 2000 and has been undertaking research and teaching in the field of management control. He also served as Deputy Director of the Accounting Research Institute of Tsinghua University. Prior to that, he worked as Group Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Finance Company at a large manufacturing enterprise group.

He has led research projects which were funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Finance of China, and has published papers in core academic journals, including Management World, Journal of Financial Research, China Soft Science, China Industrial Economy, Accounting Research, Public Finance Research, and published academic books in major research areas.

He has served as External Director for large enterprise groups and Independent Director for listed companies; Deputy Secretary-general of China Association of Chief Financial Officers and Deputy Secretary-general of China National Association of Finance Companies; he also conducted macro enterprise management work at former National State-owned Assets Administration Bureau and former Ministry of Textile Industry of China.

He has received the First Prize for Academic Paper awarded by the Accounting Society of China, and research grants from the Social Science Theoretical Research Publication Foundation of Beijing.
