Professor LU Yi and Associate Professor MA Hong Selected in the Cheung Kong Scholars Program 2017


Recently, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China officially announced the shortlist of the Cheung Kong Scholars Program 2017. LU Yi, Professor of the Department of Economics of Tsinghua SEM, was selected as specially appointed Professor of the Cheung Kong Scholars. MA Hong, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, was selected as Cheung Kong Young Scholar. Up to now, there are 14 Cheung Kong Scholars at School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, including 10 Specially Appointed Professors and 4 Young Scholars.


Professor LU Yi is mainly engaged in international trade and China's economic research. Dozens of papers have been published in the first-class international economic journals Applied Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Urban Economics and so on. He has been the Deputy Editor of the Journal of Comparative Economics and China Journal of Economics since 2017.

MA Hong’s main areas of research are international trade and economic development. Besides, he serves as an anonymous reviewer of some academic journals such as Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Economics, Journal of Development, Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Comparative Economics, China Economic Review and Economic Research Journal.
